 NCoS Debunks Claims of Illegal Detention of Jonathan’s Domestic Staff at Okaka Centre The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Bayelsa State Command has refuted allegations spread across social media platforms claiming the illegal detention of 15 domestic staff members of former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Okaka. In a statement released by ASC I G.T. Isari, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, the NCoS described the circulating reports as "false and misleading." These reports alleged that the staff members were detained without trial since 2019 on charges of theft and that there was a secretive meeting involving Dame Patience Jonathan and senior correctional officials in Bayelsa. “These statements are unfounded and are being spread to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Correctional Service,” Isari stated. U.S TO SPEND $550 MILLION ON AFRICAN RAPID RESPOND FORCE.

REUTERS/Jim Bourg             According to one of the U.S officials,the United State announce today plans to spend $110 million a year over the next three to five years to help African Nations develop peace keeping forces that can be rapidly deployed to head off militant threats and other crises.President Barack Obama is expected to unveil the program during the third day of a summit of African heads of states in Washington,along with another U.S plan to spend an initial $65 million to bolster security institutions in Ghana,Kenya,Mali,Niger,Nigeria and Tunisia.The United State would partner with Senegal,Ghana,Ethiopia,Rwanda,Tanzania,Uganda to develop rapid response forces.Those forces would be ready to deploy as part of United Nations or African Union missions.One more picture below.
