Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. According to the United State military,the U.S and Arab strikes on Syria overnight were only the beginning of a credible and sustainable,persistent coalition effort to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIS militants and other extremist groups.There was also a separate U.S attack on different band of Islamist militants in Syria on the mysterious Al-Qaeda affiliated Khorasan group,who are said to have been planing an imminent attack on a western target.Rear Admiral John Kirby,a Pentagon spokesman said ''I can tell you that last nights strikes were only the beginning .The strikes had been very successful and would continue''.Kirby didn't go further to give details on future operation.More photos below.
