 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. A MAN IN LAGOS SENT ASSASSINS TO KILL HIS EX-WIFE FOR DUMPING HIM.

•Abiodun and Eniola at their wedding six months ago                   34 year old Abiodun Atinuke from Ogun state but based in Lagos,hired three men,now at large and paid them an undisclosed amount of money to assassinate his ex-wife Eniola from Ilorin in Kwara state but based in Lagos,for dumping him for another man six months after their marriage.Angered by her action,the man took suspected assassins to 15,Ogunmokun street Mushin Lagos where Eniola lives after she left his house and asked them to kill her.Eniola managed to escape and reported the matter to the police at Olosan Division.Her ex-husband was arrested but his accomplices fled.When he was arrested,he did not deny the allegation but he said he attempted to kill her because immediately he got married to her trouble started.Eniola started behaving strangely and was coming home late.He later caught Eniola red handed with her lover,instead of her to feel remorse,she packed out of their matrimonial home and moved into her lover's house.Abiodun Atinuke was charged before the court for conspiracy and conduct likely to breach public peace,though he pleaded not guilty.One more picture below.                                                                         Abiodun Atinuke: arrives court after allegations that he paid for his wife to be assassinated
