Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. This is the second church collapsing in Benin,Edo state.Yesterday sunday,shortly after church service at Liberty Power Bible Church,also known as Power Palace at Asoro slope off Ekenwan Road in Benin city Edo state collapsed.No life was lost as the church was said to be empty when the church collapsed.The owner of the land where the church was being constructed Ajor Sylvanus,said that ''The building collapsed because it was not properly built.The pastor built the church like a fence,no pillar.The block is just ordinary sand.I have been telling him that no pillar would cause the building to collapse.The building fell on my building and damaged many things.When the pastor came,he was concerned about the musical instrument in his church and thanked God that his church members were not around when the building fell.I had to call the police''.
