 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium. BILL GATES PLEDGED $50 MILLION TO NIGERIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES HIT BY EBOLA VIRUS.

Bill and Melinda Gates              I am impressed how Bill Gates and his wife Melinda foundation pledge today wednesday that they will give $50 million to Nigeria and other countries hit by the deadly Ebola virus disease to help boost the fight against the Ebola outbreak.The foundation said in a statement that it would immediately release funds to United Nations agencies and international organisations involved in the outbreak in order to scale up emergency efforts in affected countries.The foundation also vowed to work with the public and private sector,to help speed up the development of therapies and vaccines to tackle the deadly virus.
