 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. SUPPORTERS REJOICE AS LAGOS STATE SPEAKER IKUFORIJI,WAS ACQUITTED OF MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES.

                  three years ago,the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC had accused the Speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly,Adeyemi Ikuforiji  and Oyebode Atoyebi,his aide of laundering around N600 million but the two time speaker has now been discharged and acquitted.He was discharged and acquitted by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court,Lagos.The Judge stated that the case which lasted for three years did not have enough evidence to prosecute Ikuforiji,noting that the prosecution only called two witnesses and that did not help much.''The Prosecution failed to prove its case''.Ikuforiji is now eligible to contest as a Governor in Lagos state 2015,though there are rumours that he will flag off his campaign in few weeks.One more picture below.                                                                                            Ikuforiji and supporters celebrating in court on Friday after money laundering case against him was dismissed Photo: Simon Ateba
