Ukraine holds on to final eastern strongholds as Russia pushes to capture Donbas In Kramatorsk, one of the last Ukrainian-held cities in eastern Donetsk, life grows increasingly dangerous as Russian forces push closer. Over the past month, local officials have reported numerous attacks using strike drones, rockets, ballistic missiles, and aerial bombs, hitting homes, markets, gas stations, and a nearby power plant, causing widespread blackouts. Residents feel the frontline drawing nearer, aware that their safety depends on how Ukrainian forces hold the line. The Kremlin continues to press for control over all of the Donbas region, which includes Donetsk and Luhansk.
