 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. 18 YEAR OLD MAN WAS STONED TO DEATH BY SOMALIA'S AL SHABAAB MILITANTS FOR RAPING A 28 YEAR OLD WOMAN.

             According to sources,Somalia's al Shabaab militants said today wednesday that they had stoned an 18 year old man to death for raping a woman at gun point in one of their strong holds in the Southern lower Shabelle region.The group which pledges loyalty to al Qaeda,has been losing territory in an offensive battle by African and Somali troops,but has been determined to demonstrate its authority over areas it still controls.Al Shabaab said the man raped a 28 years old woman at gun point in the outskirts of her village three days before he was killed on tuesday.Sheikh Mohammed Abu Abdalla,who claimed to be al Shabaab governor for the region said ''This shows we have the power to sentence anyone who breaks Islamic law''.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
