 MOTHER, 14-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER DIE IN ANAMBRA BUILDING COLLAPSE By Chinyere Nwoye  A three-storey building under construction has collapsed at Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, killing a woman and her 14-year-old daughter. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, October 8, at No. 11 Emeka Ugwuanyi Street, by Anabanaba, Okpoko, amid heavy rainfall. The collapsed structure reportedly fell on a boys’ quarters located close to the building, trapping occupants who were inside at the time of the incident. The victims were identified as Mrs Happiness Ugoagu and her 14-year-old daughter, Miss Confidence, both indigenes of Uga in Aguata Local Government Area.  They were reportedly asleep when the building collapsed on the boys’ quarters. Following the incident, residents, sympathisers and emergency responders immediately mobilised to the scene in an effort to rescue the trapped persons and clear the debris. 30 OKADA'S {BIKES} WERE SEIZED BY TASK FORCE IN LAGOS.

Okada Seized                Lagos state Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Unit claimed they impounded the okada's {bike's} because they were plying certain routes in the state which they are banned from plying.Some okada's were arrested yesterday at Iju-Ishaga while today tuesday most of the bike riders abandoned their bikes and took to their heels to avoid being arrested and prosecuted.Task force Chairman Mr Bayo Sulaiman said ''Residents in Lagos have been complaining that okada riders were back in full force plying prohibited routes and obstructing traffic in the area.During a raid on Computer village Ikeja on monday evening,it was discovered that many of the traders were back on the streets hawking their wares once again.Lots of people believed that we have relaxed in enforcement but we did not.We will ensure that places like Oshodi and Obalende that have been trading and street hawking are well policed so that the traders and area boys {miscreants},do not come back to turn these places to nuisance''.
