 "Worth It" — Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting 11-Month-Old Son to Keep Him From Father Madeline Veronique Daly, 36, pleaded guilty this week in Silver City, New Mexico, to first-degree murder in the December 23, 2025 killing of her 11-month-old son, Basil Stoner. Grant County deputies had tracked her to an RV off Highway 15 on a Wyoming kidnapping warrant after she took the baby during a custody dispute with his father, Jake Stoner. While officers waited for a warrant and tried to negotiate, Daly put a 9mm handgun to the boy’s face and fired. According to the criminal complaint, Daly told investigators her thought when she saw law enforcement approach was: “Jake can’t get Basil.” After her arrest she said it was “worth it” if Basil’s father and his family never got him. 30 OKADA'S {BIKES} WERE SEIZED BY TASK FORCE IN LAGOS.

Okada Seized                Lagos state Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Unit claimed they impounded the okada's {bike's} because they were plying certain routes in the state which they are banned from plying.Some okada's were arrested yesterday at Iju-Ishaga while today tuesday most of the bike riders abandoned their bikes and took to their heels to avoid being arrested and prosecuted.Task force Chairman Mr Bayo Sulaiman said ''Residents in Lagos have been complaining that okada riders were back in full force plying prohibited routes and obstructing traffic in the area.During a raid on Computer village Ikeja on monday evening,it was discovered that many of the traders were back on the streets hawking their wares once again.Lots of people believed that we have relaxed in enforcement but we did not.We will ensure that places like Oshodi and Obalende that have been trading and street hawking are well policed so that the traders and area boys {miscreants},do not come back to turn these places to nuisance''.
