 North to Decide 2027 Presidential Election in Six Months, Says Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, has declared that the northern region will determine its stance on the 2027 presidential election within the next six months. Speaking in a Hausa-language interview alongside Professor Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Baba-Ahmed emphasized the North’s pivotal role in Nigerian politics, stating, “No one becomes Nigeria’s president without the North.” Baba-Ahmed asserted that the region is seeking a government capable of addressing its pressing challenges.                    The painting above was painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds in 1770.The picture belongs to Francis Barber,who was a servant and was born enslaved in Jamaica around 1745,and he was brought to England  by his slave master Colonel Richard Bathurst.When Bathust died in 1754,Francis Barber was given his freedom and left a sum of 12 pounds.In 1750,Francis Barber joined another household which belongs to Dr Johnson.Dr Johnson would not allow Francis Barber to perform demeaning task like buckling his shoes and Dr Johnson in all things treated Francis Barber as an equal.Most people in these present day have house helps,how many people treat them like the way they treat their children {equals}.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
