Trump issues pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer after insider trading conviction President Donald Trump has issued a full pardon to former Republican congressman Stephen Buyer, who served nearly two years in prison after being convicted of insider trading tied to post-congressional consulting work. Buyer was sentenced in 2023 to 22 months in prison for illegal stock trades made while working as a consultant and lobbyist. He was ordered to forfeit more than $350,000 in ill-gotten gains and pay a $10,000 fine. He was released from custody in 2025 after his conviction was upheld, with the Supreme Court declining to take up his appeal earlier this year. According to a statement sign by his spokesperson,Buhari has defer his plans to declare his intentions for 2015 presidential race by one week from today 8 October.It will now hold on Wednesday 15 October at the Eagles Square Abuja.Buhari's Spokeman Dr Audu Ogbeh,said ''The prosponement was as a result of the sallah celebrations and the public holidays observed on monday and tuesday,as well as to allow for participstion in APC'S rallt for it's governorship candidate in Adamawa ahead of the 11 october by election''.Un-Fortunately for Buhari,former Adamawa Deputy Governor,Mr Bala Ngilari was sworn in as the substative state governor today wednesday in Yola.He was sworn in following an order by a Federal High Court,Abuja,that ''Acting Governor Ahmadu Fintiri,should vacate the office.The court held that Ngilari did not resign from office as Deputy Governor in line with section 306 {1} {2} and {5} of the 1999 constitution as amended.One more photo below.
