 Rivers PDP Caucus Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Members of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the National Assembly have announced their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The declaration was made in a joint statement signed by the caucus and read to journalists by Senator Barry Mpigi in Port Harcourt on Saturday. The caucus, which includes two Senators—Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyesoh—and seven House of Representatives members—Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Felix Nwaeke, Kelechi Nwogu, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, and Blessing Amadi—cited the tangible successes of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as the basis for their endorsement. HURRICANE GONZALO,KILLED 3 PEOPLE TODAY IN LONDON.

                 According to the London Ambulance service,one woman died after a tree was uprooted opposite Knightbridge Barracks,Kensigton,during high winds caused by the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo.Else where a man was crushed to death underneath a van in Canvey,Essex,after a van fell on top of him.The victim,in his thirties,was underneath the van repairing it when a strong gust of wing caused it to fall off a car jack around 10:40am today.Then another man who was said to be around 63 years old was killed after his car hit a bridge near Merseyside,Liverpool,this morning.At the time of the crash the area was experiencing gusts of up to 35mph and heavy rain as the tail end of hurricane Gonzalo blew ashore.Three more people,one of whom was in a wheelchair were injured by a fallen tree at South Wick Recreation Ground in West Sussex just before 10:am.More photos below.                                                                                         The back of the car was destroyed after being hit by the tree earlier this morning which also took out a nearby lamppostA 21-year-old man had to be treated for shock after his car sank into a river following a crash with a lorry in March, CambridgeshireThe car ploughed through a 10ft section of metal railings before plunging into the river, though nobody was seriously injuredA child gets a soaking after waves poured over the sea front in Blackpool today after the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo hit the UKWalkers at Newhaven stopped briefly to admire the view as huge waves crashed against the harbour today after the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo blew ashoreThe coast also took a battering as high waves swept along by strong wind hit the lighthouse at Newhaven harbour, East sussex

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
