 Judiciary Kogi Chief Judge inaugurates committee to review High Court rules The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, has inaugurated a committee for the review of the state’s High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, just as judges of the court proceed on a one-week break to mark the Easter celebration. The high-powered committee was inaugurated at the state’s judiciary headquarters in Lokoja, with Hon. Justice Abdul Awulu as its Chairman and Hon. Justice Moses Gwatana as the Vice Chairman. Speaking on the imperative of reviewing the rules, the Chief Judge disclosed that the current rules guiding procedures in the High Court of Justice were enacted 19 years ago when the pioneer Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Umaru Eri, made and brought the rules into effect, introducing “some remarkable innovations into the civil litigation landscape” in the state. NOLLYWOOD ACTOR CLEMS ONYEKA,KILLED BY A STRAY BULLET TODAY IN ASABA.

                      Today tuesday in Asaba Delta state,a Nollywood actor identified as Clems Onyeka was caught in a crossfire between operates of the Delta state police command and armed robbers who attempted to hijack a bullion van.A police officer also lost his life while several persons including civilians and policemen,sustained varying degrees of injuries in the process.Onyeka who was said to be driving in his private car when a flying bullet pierced through the back of his head making its way out the forehead..He died at the spot due to the impact of the bullet.The incident occurred at DSB Road where four armed men laid ambush for the bullion van,believed to be owned by a new generation bank coming from Awka in Anambra state,and was heading towards the office of the Central Bank of Nigeria {CBN},located on Mariam Babagida way.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.                                                                                 Sad

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
