 NDLEA secures order to detain vessel, 21 crew members over cocaine shipment from Brazil  . We remain resolute to frustrate drug syndicates targeting Nigeria, says Marwa The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has secured an order of a Federal High Court in Lagos to detain a ship, its captain and 20 other crew members following the seizure of 25.5 kilograms of cocaine in the hatch of the commodity vessel from Brazil at the Apapa seaport in Lagos by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Operatives of the NDLEA acting on credible intelligence had on 6th December 2025 discovered the cocaine consignment aboard the merchant vessel MV San Anthonio from Brazil. After the full discharge of cargo from the ship, a total of 21 crew members of diverse nationalities including Russia, Phillipines, Ukraine and Azerbaijan were taken into NDLEA custody along with the drug exhibits. OYO STATE COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH,CONFIRMS LASSA FEVER OUTBREAK IN THEIR STATE.

                       According to Oyo state Commissioner for Health Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin,has confirmed the out break of Lassa fever in their state but he is assuring their citizen that the government is on top of the situation as well as curtailing it.For now the government of Oyo state is only aware of 10 cases and out of the 10 cases,three were brought into the state from another state.He said ''We are already working to bring it under control.We are doing the best to curtail it.We have what it takes to manage it very well.I only want to appeal to our people to be very hygienic and when they feel that something is wrong with our system,we should go to the hospital for proper diagnosis of their sickness and treatment.Most of this black rats in our houses don't have this virus.Most of the rats with this virus are from the bush.There are farmers who in the process of making cassava flour will cut their cassava and spread them on the road.When these rats see this cassava they go there to eat from them and in the process,they pee on them and through that they transfer the virus on the cassava.Anybody that eats out of the cassava flour made from such cassava might have the fever''.More photos below.
