 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. OYO STATE COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH,CONFIRMS LASSA FEVER OUTBREAK IN THEIR STATE.

                       According to Oyo state Commissioner for Health Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin,has confirmed the out break of Lassa fever in their state but he is assuring their citizen that the government is on top of the situation as well as curtailing it.For now the government of Oyo state is only aware of 10 cases and out of the 10 cases,three were brought into the state from another state.He said ''We are already working to bring it under control.We are doing the best to curtail it.We have what it takes to manage it very well.I only want to appeal to our people to be very hygienic and when they feel that something is wrong with our system,we should go to the hospital for proper diagnosis of their sickness and treatment.Most of this black rats in our houses don't have this virus.Most of the rats with this virus are from the bush.There are farmers who in the process of making cassava flour will cut their cassava and spread them on the road.When these rats see this cassava they go there to eat from them and in the process,they pee on them and through that they transfer the virus on the cassava.Anybody that eats out of the cassava flour made from such cassava might have the fever''.More photos below.
