LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom. According to the Zimbabwe authorities,eleven people were killed and dozens injured in a stampede at a stadium in Zimbabwe,as thousands of people at a church service tried to leave through the same exit.Sources claimed that around 30,000 people packed into a stadium in Kwekwe,213km West of Harare,yesterday thursday evening to listen to Walter Magaya,a pastor who draws huge crowds.According to the Assistant Commissioner Shadreck Mubaiwa said ''When the service ended the congregation rushed toward a single exit,in a stampede that killed four people on the spot.Another seven were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.Police tried to rescue people but they were over whelmed by the crowds.It is unfortunate that people wanted to rush out,which made it difficult to contain the situation''.,More photos below.
