World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. According to sources,last night {monday} five people were burnt to death following a ghastly motor accident on Ayobo Aiyetoro Road,Igando area of Lagos state.Two other people had severe burns and were rushed to the Gbagada General Hospital for urgent attention.The accident occurred around 9:pm and sources claimed that the brake of an articulated truck,with registration number EP 896 SK failed and the truck rammed into stationary truck rammed into stationary truck loaded with alcoholic contents which led to an explosion.The General Manager Lagos state Emergency Management Authority,Dr Femi Oke Osanyintolu confirmed that five people died and were burnt beyond recognition,adding that two other people sustained serious burns and had been rushed to the Trauma and Burns section of the Gbagada General Hospital.
