 YORUBA TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, LAGOS CHAPTER, CELEBRATES OUTGOING TG/PS, MRS. ANIKE ADEKANYE The Yoruba Teachers' Association of Nigeria (Ẹgbẹ Akomọlẹdẹ àti Àṣà Yorùbá), Lagos State Chapter, held a colourful ceremony to celebrate the outgoing Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye.  The event,which took place at the Immaculate Heart Comprehensive High School Hall, Maryland, was attended by dignitaries, cultural performers, educators, and students including the Lagos State Chairman of the Yoruba Teachers' Association, Prince Aderemi Adeyemi, along with members of the Elders-in-Council, led by Asiwaju Olasunkanmi Tella.  Prince Adeyemi delivered heartfelt tributes to Mrs. Adekanye for her years of meritorious service, describing her as a great influencer who opened doors for the development of the Association. BOKO HARAM HAS TAKEN OVER ANOTHER TOWN IN ADAMAWA STATE,TODAY.

                    Today Tuesday that Goodluck Jonathan is declaring,Boko Haram was also taken over another town Maiha in Adamawa state.Maiha is about 25 kilometers from Mubi,the commercial town that was captured by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram,last week.According to sources,even before the town fell to the hands of the insurgents,ii was already a shadow of itself as commercial and social activities were paralyzed.People were already leaving the town due to it's proximity to Mubi.Fleeing residents said they saw many soldiers running away from the area with some of them hitch-hiking in resident's vehicles.The soldiers told the residents that if the insurgents caught up with them,it would lead to instant death.More photos below.
