Alex Cora fired as Red Sox manager amid last-place AL East slump, Chad Tracy named interim replacement Alex Cora has been fired as manager of the Boston Red Sox as the team sits in last place in the American League East, ending a turbulent second tenure that followed both historic success and years of roster turnover.
