 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. NASARAWA STATE GOVERNOR'S HEAD DRIVER MAIRUWA,WAS ASSASSINATED TODAY BY GUNMEN.

Governor Al-Makura of Nasarawa State                          According to ASP Ismaila Numan,the Police Public Relations Officer in Nasarawa state confirmed today that gun men assassinated Mr Abdullahi Mairuwa,the head driver of Governor Umaru Al- Makura of Nasarawa state these morning.He said the victim was traveling with his wife from Lafia to Keana Local Government Area today saturday morning when they were attacked by some gunmen at Tudun Adabu village in Obi Local Government Area of the state.''The report we got from the scene indicated that Mairuwa's killers shot him at close range in the presence of his wife before escaping through a path.Detectives had been deployed to investigate the killing''.The remains of Mairuwa had been taken to Keana for burial according to Islamic rites.
