TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. According to sources,on tuesday in Edo state,a landlady invited three police women from Oregbemi police Division in Benin,Edo state state,to arrest a tenant at Oregbemi Quarters Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area in Benin,when a fracas ensued.Trouble started when the tenant insisted on taking her bath before going to the police station,a request,said to have been turned down by the police officers.The situation degenerated into an argument and in the ensuing fracas,other residents in the area joined the tenant to beat up the officers and stripped them naked.The landlady whose name was given the tenants quit notice.The landlady who was said to be known for harrassing and intimidating her tenants with police,was said by eye witness to have ran to the next compound to hid,when the tenants started fighting the police women.
