 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. 3 DEAD AS 8 ISLAMIC GUNMEN,ATTACKED AFRICAN UNION BASE IN SOMALIA ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

                According to a spokesperson of the African Union said eight Islamist gunmen infiltrated the main African Union base on thursday christmas day in Mogadishu,and killed three peacekeepers and a civilian contractor.Somali militant group alshabaab claimed responsibility for the attack,which lasted several hours,and said it had killed 14 peacekeepers witnesses reported hearing bomb blasts and volleys of gunfire through the day.Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musam,alshabaab's military operations spokeman said ''We targeted the enemies at a time they were celebrating christmas''.A.U peacekeeping mission in Somalia said in a statement that ''Terrorists,some of whom were disguised in Somali National Army Uniforms,breached the base camp around lunch hour and attempted tp gain access to critical infrastructure,during which five of them were killed and three others captured''.
