 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said. 3 DEAD AS 8 ISLAMIC GUNMEN,ATTACKED AFRICAN UNION BASE IN SOMALIA ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

                According to a spokesperson of the African Union said eight Islamist gunmen infiltrated the main African Union base on thursday christmas day in Mogadishu,and killed three peacekeepers and a civilian contractor.Somali militant group alshabaab claimed responsibility for the attack,which lasted several hours,and said it had killed 14 peacekeepers witnesses reported hearing bomb blasts and volleys of gunfire through the day.Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musam,alshabaab's military operations spokeman said ''We targeted the enemies at a time they were celebrating christmas''.A.U peacekeeping mission in Somalia said in a statement that ''Terrorists,some of whom were disguised in Somali National Army Uniforms,breached the base camp around lunch hour and attempted tp gain access to critical infrastructure,during which five of them were killed and three others captured''.
