 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. A 16 YEAR OLD BOY,ARRESTED IN TURKEY FOR INSULTING THEIR PRESIDENT.

          The boy is identified by his initials as M.E.A,a school student was arrested for insulting their Turkey President,Recep Tyyip Erdogan on thursday christmas day.Though what the boy said is not known to us yet but the boy is believed to be a member of a leftist organisation.The boy delivered a speech on wednesday in the Central Antolian city of Konya,a bastion of Erdogan's Islamic rooted Justice and Development Party {AKP},in memory of a young secular teacher killed by Islamists in 1930.The boy is now facing up to four years imprisonment if convicted on the charge.Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davtoglu supported the courts decision on the Juvenile's arrest saying ''Everyone must respect the office of the president,who ever he is''.Though the boy denied any links to any political party and he also said thhat the governor's office granted him permission for the commemoration ceremony orgsnised through social media.''I've made the statement in question,i have no intent to insult''.Just imagine if they arrest all those people,who openly insult Goodluck Jonathan,that might reduce the tension in Nigeria.
