 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. 6 BULGARIANS,DETAINED BY THE SUDAN REBELS TODAY.

                               According to a spokeperson Mubarak for the Bulgarian foreign ministry said today wednesday that ''Six Bulgarians working with the UN's World Food Programme {WFP} were detained by Sudanese rebels after their helicopter made an emergency landing in Sudan's war-torn South Kordofan province.The three member crew of the helicopter and three officers of Sofia based Heli Air,the carrier that operated it,were being detained.The flight which was scheduled from South Sudan to Khartoun,flew into an active combat zone in South Kordofan that has been subject to bombings by the government''According to the rebels spokesperson  Mubarak Ardol said ''We just wanted to confirm they were not linked to the Khartoun regime.We are currently in contact with the UN and the WFP to organise their release.Once we confirm that they are fact working with the UN's WFP and not for the benefit of the Sudanese government,we are fully prepared to release them immediately''.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
