 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. 69 PEOPLE DIED IN A FUNERAL AFTER DRINKING POISONED BEER IN MOZAMBIQUE.

                             The beer is made from corn,sorghum or other crops.The beer is commonly consumed in feasts especially funerals in Africa.The mass poisoning occurred when people attending a funeral fell ill on friday in the village of Chitima in central Mozambique,with seven fatalities initially confirmed on saturday morning.Paula Bernado,the District Director for Health,Women and Social Action,said ''As we prepared to determine the cause of death of people,we began to receive a lot of people with diarrhea and other muscle aches.After that,we began to receive dead bodies from several neighborhood.Atleast 169 remained in the hospital,while samples of the brew and suspicious objects found inside the drum have been sent to the National lanoratory in the capital Maputo for testing''.Their President Armando Guebuza,declared three days of national mourning.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
