 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University. FOREIGN TRIPS BY CIVIL SERVANTS ON GOVT EXPENSE,BANNED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

                                    According to Mr Danladi Kifasi,who disclosed this information in a circula tiltled ''Restrictions on foreign trainings and international travels by public servants'',was issued to all Ministries,Departments and Agencies,MDA's,said it has become imperative to introduce a number of cost,saving measures following the recent development in the international oil market that has affected the revenue stream of Government.The Head of Service outlined some guidelines in the circular to be applied before any public officer shall travel out of the country on Government expense,explaining that''Proposals for participation or attendence of international conferences,seminars,workshops,study hours,training,presentations of papers,negotiating/signing of Memorandum of Understanding {MOU} abroadat Government expense,shall no longer be allowed except those that are fully funded by sponsoring/invitations organizations''.The circular further warned that no Ministry,Extra ministerial office,Department,Agency or Parastatals shall fund staff outside Nigeria for training at government expense whether or not that Agency draws funds from the Federal Government Budget or meets its financial needs from revenue generated by itself.One more photo below.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
