 Walton, Kentucky- 2 elderly women lose their lives and another individual is critically injured in a crash that caused a dump truck to crash through restaurant.  While diners were enjoying a meal at Boondocks Pub on Tuesday, April 8th, a tragic incident occurred shattering the peaceful scene. At around 4:30 p.m. an SUV pulled out in front of a fully loaded dump truck. The driver of the dump truck attempted to brake and steer clear of the SUV but they were not able to avoid a collision. The SUV was struck by the dump truck and the impact caused the SUV to cross the southbound lane where it struck a guardrail and flipped before coming to rest on its top. Sadly the crash took the lives of 91-year-old Eva Mulberry and 89-year-old Betty Holland. A 66-year-old woman who was in the SUV was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. •Mercy John                                                                According to sources,Mercy John who was an officer attached to Provost Office State Police Command Headquarters,Ikeja Lagos,was accosted by armed robbers at about 6pm,yesterday tuesday,10 February around Egbeda Shasha area of Lagos state and she was ordered to lie down.According to a statement by DSP Ken Nwosu,the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer,said ''Mercy John and one other person were accosted by two armed robbers on motor bike and ordered to lie down.The NCO {Non Commissioned Officer Mercy John}refused to comply and also turned down the order to hand over her handbag.However,her companion out of fear complies.One of the men who accosted them brought out a locally made pistol,then Mercy John immediately on sighting the firearm,smartly and professionally grabbed the neck of the gun wielding hoodlum and hit his head on a nearby wall.The firearm fell down and she immediately grabbed it and the hoodlums sensing imminent danger,fled for their lives.The fleeing robbers are being trailed by the police,the female officer has since been approved for the commendation of the Commissioner of Police,as well as the IGP's commendation.The Commissioner of Police wishes to congratulate the NCO {Mercy John} for this uncommon act of bravery and urges her to keep it up''.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
