 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. N40m WAS DEMANDED FROM THE FAMILY OF A NEWSPAPER DISTRIBUTOR,WHO WAS KIDNAPPED IN OGUN STATE ON MONDAY.

                  On monday along Ejinrin road,four gunmen kidnapped a female Newspaper distributor Mrs Funlayo Ajayi.The kidnappers in Ijebu Ode Ogun state,have now demanded the sum of N40 million from the family of Mrs Funlayo Ajayi,who is a major distributor for leading Newspapers and magazines in the area.The case has been reported to the police at the Ijebu Ode police Area Command in Igbeba and the Deputy Commissioner of Police,Operation,Akpoebi Egbuson,was said to have deployed the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad to the area to fish out the kidnappers.A family source said that the victim was allowed by the kidnappers to speak on phone to her immediate family members and associates.The family members said she told them that the kidnappers insist on collecting ransom from her,before she will be released.
