 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion. PERMANENT VOTERS CARD COLLECTION,EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 8-INEC.

                 The extension of the collection of the Permanent Voters Card {PVC}to February 8,2015 by the Independent National Electoral Commission,was confirmed yesterday sunday via a statement by Kayode Idowu,the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of INEC,Prof Attahiru Jega.Kayode Idowu said ''The February 8 deadline for the collection of the PVC's supersedes the earlier deadline of January 31,2015,announced by the commission.It is intended to give registered voters yet to collect their PVC,the opportunity to do so in readiness for the February 2015 general elections.INEC hereby calls on duly registered persons not to delay in going to collect their cards before the expiration of the new deadline.The commission reaffirms its determination to make the 2015 elections free,fair,credible and peaceful and urges all stakeholders,including voters,to spare no effort in working forward the same objective''.
