 Alia’s car gift to Benue judiciary in order – Attorney General The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order of Benue State, Hon. Barr. Fidelis Mnyim has said the car gift to the judiciary by Governor Hyacinth Alia is a symbol of support and commitment as promised when he assumed office. Barr Mnyim was reacting to a query posed by Prof. Ernest Ojukwu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, in a tweet on Monday, 7th May 2024, challenging the viability of the autonomy granted to Benue State Judiciary if the State governor was still buying cars for them. MAGIC FM recalls that Governor Alia donated six (SUV) vehicles recently to the judiciary. The Professor had wondered why Governor Alia of Benue State should procure vehicles for the state’s judiciary when the funds allocated to the judiciary could be utilized for that purpose. The Attorney General of the State said that the procurement of vehicles for the judiciary constituted an additional benevolent gesture by the Governor.

                           Today wednesday,former Head of State Shehu Shagari,celebrated his 90th birthday in Sokoto and his birthday attracted the attendance of other former Head of States and our present Head of State,President Ebele Jonathan.During the cutting of the cake,they called the former heads of state for a group photograph,Chief Ernest Shonekan,Gen Ibrahim Babangida,Celebrant F.H.O.S,Shehu Shagari,President Goodluck Jonathan,Gen Yakbu Gowon and Gen Abdusalami Abubakar.Though i didn't see Former presider Olushegun Obasanjo in the group photo but another picture showed him and the celebrant sitting together,gisting and shaking hands.Another picture below shows the former president Shehu Shagari welcoming the Speaker,House of Representatives,Aminu Tambuwal.The birthday is more or less like a re-union.I wish the former Head of State,a happy 90th birthday,and many years to come.More photos below.                                                                                        Embedded image permalink

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
