 AVERTING BUILDING COLLAPSE: “SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING” - LSTML The General Manager of the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL), Engr. Olayinka Abdul, has charged Lagos Residents on the need to report any suspicious dilapidation to structures that could lead to their collapse across the Lagos Metropolis. Speaking on Traffic Radio. 96.1 FM on a programme tagged: “Materials Testing Mata” aired on Monday, Engr. Abdul informed of the need to “See something, Say something”, in averting episodes of Building Disaster following Non-Compliance on materials testing of structures across the Metropolis . “Building Collapse will consistently be a recurring issue if materials testing on structures is neglected. The recent structural collapse on Oremeta Street, Ojodu-Berger, was due to non-compliance with the results of a destructive test conducted during the materials testing process. The results at the time showed the need for further professional input from Structural Engineers...

STRANGE BUT TRUE,''VACUUM CLEANER DISASTER''.

                           On the 9th of February 2015 in a city in South Korea,an Emergency respond were called in to rescue a woman whose robot vacuum cleaner latched onto her hair while she was taking a nap.The Changwon city fire department said workers responded to the 52 year old woman's home in Changwon after the robot vacuum cleaner latched into her hair while she was sleeping on the floor.The emergency responders were able to open the vacuum and free the woman after about 30 minutes.A fire department representative said ''This case was quite special,we had seen weird things,but this was a very weird call that we received.The woman lost about 10 strands of hair but was otherwise unharmed.The device appears to be similar to the Roomba,a circular robotic vacuum cleaner''.
