Setting the Records Straight on Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate, Benue State. Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28, 2026. They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court. Shortly after their arrest, specifically on May 4, 2026, three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's Holding Facility and were permitted. They cashed in on the opportunity, broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention. Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. According to sources,the fire started around 9:am today monday mornin at the African Independent Television {AIT} studio at Alagbado,when an air condition in the studio was affected by high voltage electricity.The Director of Fire Service,Mr Rasak Fadipe,confirmed the incident when he told the press that ''The fire was caused by high voltage.We arrived at the scene at 9:30am and we spent about 15 minutes for active fire-fighting operations.Only the air conditioner was damaged as we were able to curtail the spread of the fire''.I thank God nobody lost their lives,during the fire outbreak.The Nigerian fire service is really working now,unlike before when they will arrive the scene of the incident,with no water in their tank,and in the process of looking for water,lives and properties will be lost.
