COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action. Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice. The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. The police at Criminal Investigation Department,SCID ,Panti Yaba have arrested a 55 year old man Isiaka Akanbi,following the death of a 65 year old woman Risikat Raheem in a hotel room at Aribo street Olodi Apapa in Lagos state around 7pm for sex .According to sources,they really could not ascertain the actual cause of the agreement which allegedly led to Akanbi beating Risikat to death.He attempted to escape but was held back by the management of the hotels which discovered what happened.Akanbi was handed over to the police who later retrieved the corpse and deposited it in the mortuary for autopsy.He was charged with murder before Ebutte Metta magistrate Mr A.O Komolafe ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi.The court also ordered the posecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.
