 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion. SENEGAL HAS SCRAPPED VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL FOREIGNERS,TO REVIVE THEIR TOURISM SECTOR.

                    The cost and administrative hassle of visas,couple with the taxes on air tickets,led to the fall in the number of visitors to Senegal.According to Senegal President Macky Sall said yesterday friday that the new measure on visa free travel,will come into effect on May 1st.Taxes on airfares would be cut by half in a bid to make Senegal a more competitively priced destination .It was not clear when the taxes on airfares would be cut,but many hotels along Senegal coastline that was once full of French visitors closed early this tourist season as fears over an Ebola outbreak in neighboring Guinea and nearby Liberia and Sierra Leone came on top of a gradual decline in the industry.Senegal recorded one case of Ebola last year but prevented any further spread.Senegal is looking for a strategic partner to relaunch its indebted state carrier Senegal Airlines ahead of the opening of a new international airport next year as it seeks to become a hub for air travel in West Africa.
