 Heavy fighting reported between Sudanese army, rival RSF in southern Sudan Fierce clashes were reported Tuesday between the Sudanese army and its rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the strategic city of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state in southern Sudan. A military source told Anadolu that the army inflicted heavy losses on RSF's troops and equipment, forcing them to flee positions. Witnesses said clashes with heavy weapons erupted in the western areas of El-Obeid in the early hours of Tuesday, but calm was later restored to the city. The RSF is yet to comment on the army’s announcement. The city recently endured intensified artillery shelling by RSF militants, resulting in fatalities and casualties. The army announced Thursday it had cleared the last RSF pockets in Khartoum, after regaining control of the capital’s airport, security headquarters and several neighborhoods in the east and south for the first time since April 2023. A PASTOR DANIEL AKINTOLA,CAUGHT WITH DRUGS BY THE NDLEA AT ENUGU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YESTERDAY.

                   A 43 year old pastor identified as Daniel Akintola,who is one of the Pastors at the Gospel Faith Mission International,Olayemi Assembly Ipaja,Lagos has been apprehended in Enugu airport by the NDLEA men yesterday on his way back from Uganda.According to Daniel who  tried to abandon his luggage and flee when he noticed the men had to recheck his luggage again,but he was arrested at-last and he admitted he owns the luggage but said he knows nothing about the 1.9 kilogrammes of heroin found in ot.He said ''I am a pastor with the Gospel Faith Mission International,Olayemi Assembly,Ipaja Lagos.I attended a ministers conference in Uganda.This bag containing heroin is my bag,but i am a pastor and not a drug trafficker''.When he was asked to prove if he truely attended the ministers conference in Uganda as claimed by him,but Pastor Daniel could not prove it.He is presently in the custody of the NDLEA.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
