KIDNAPPING OCCURS DAILY IN KOGI, BANDITS TOOK 28 RESIDENTS ON MONDAY — SUNDAY KARIMI.(PHOTO).

 Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. He noted that such incidents have become frequent in Kogi State, adding that communities continue to face security threats from criminal elements. AT LAST OIL MARKETERS,CALLS OFF THE STRIKE.

                      The oil Major Marketers Association of  Nigeria {MOMAN} has finally reached an agreement with the government to begin supplying country with much needed petroleum products.Magnus Abe,the Chairman of the Senate committee on petroleum resources,informed press that a solution to fuel crisis has just been worked out during the meeting of MOMAN representatives,Major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector,senate committee on Petroleum resources and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala,minister of finance.According to that decision,petroleum products delivery across the country will be restated in six hours.At the same time the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers {NUPENG} and the petroleum and natural gass senior staff association {PENGASSAN},which had suspended their activities previously,have also decided to call off their ongoing strike to end the fuel crisis hitting Nigeria's economy.During the meeting,it was agreed that the department of petroleum resources has the right to revoke the license of those oil marketers which refuse to lift petroleum products across Nigeria.
