 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. BOKO HARAM STRIKES AGAIN WITH SUICIDE BOMBERS IN MAIDUGURI YESTERDAY BUT NIGERIAN ARMY CLAIMED SANITY HAS BEEN RESTORED.

                    According to military sources,suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Nigeria northern city of Maiduguri in orno state yesterday wednesday from a cashew plantation a few kilometers from the Giwa barracks.Residents said they heard hearvy shooting and explosions on the outskirts and began fleeing their homes.The fighting began around 6:45pm before subsiding by around 9:00pm.Maiduguri has not been attacked since two major takeover attempts in late January and early February and several bombings in March.A security source who participated in the operation,said they fought off several hundreds insurgents which included suicide bombers.''Sme civilian youth vigilante who went to battle may have lost their lives''.The military source further said that ''Were they were trying to evacuate some women from a community behind the Giwa barracks when a bomb exploded from a woman suspected to be a suicide bomber''.The Director Defence Information,Major General Chris Olukolade who confirmed the incident,said ''The attack was apparently diversionary with the intention of slowing down the ongoing assault on Sambisa forest.He noted that the attack is believed to have been carried out by those escaping from the terrorists location that have been routed or destroyed ,but normalcy has been restored as the troops conduct mopping up of the area while the offensive on all terrorists forest locations continue''.One more picture below.                            Maj.
