 EFCC Arrests Eight Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday May 2, 2024 arrested eight suspected  internet fraudsters in an early morning sting operation at Osong Ama Extension in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. They were arrested following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet fraud.   Items recovered from them include, seven laptops; 13 smart phones; two wrist watches and one router.   The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.  

GRANTS OF $3,500 WILL BE PAID TO AFRICAN REFUGEES,BY THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT.

                    The Israeli government will pay $3,500 grants to African refugees to encourage them to leave the country.The country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the move was designed to ''Protect the Jewish and democratic character'' of the middle Eastern state.The country's coalition cabinet vote unanimously last weekend,to approve the plan drawn up by the country's new interior minister Gideon Sa'ar and supported by Mr Netanyahu.Mr Netanyahu said at the cabinet meeting that ''We are determined to remove the tens of thousand of infiltrators who are here,after we lowered to zero the number of work seeking infiltrators who have entered Israel's cities''.Israel already pays grants of $1,500 to migrants who agree to leave but the proposal would see the figure raised to $3,500.Other measures approved as part of a 73million pounds packaged include the establishment of a migrant detention centre in the Neger desert.
