BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. Today monday,a High court Judge identified as Mr Justice Samuel Obayomi,was kidnapped today and his orderly Cpl Usman Musa,was shut dead today early morning attack.He was kidnapped on his way to work.His driver Mr Ajayi Kolawole,told newsmen in Lokoja that the incident took place infront of the Executive guest villa at Okene GRA in the in the Okene Local Government Area of the state.Kolawole said that the judge's orderly Musa was shot dead on the spot by the kidnappers in an operation that took place between 8:40am ad 45am.He described the three gunmen as heavily armed,unmasked and wearing dark glasses.The driver said the gunmen ordered the judge and his aides to lie facedown.Kolawole said that the kidnappers opened fire on the orderly killing him on the spot.The police Area Commander at Okene,mr Kehinde Kolawole,said the driver had been detained to help in police investigations.
