 Ariana Grande tells fans break from public appearances was planned long before recent announcement Ariana Grande returned to the stage in Chicago on Monday, Aug. 3 and used part of the show to clarify that her planned break from public appearances was decided well before it was announced. During her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop at the United Center, the singer read a prepared message to fans, saying the decision to step back after the tour was "not a reactive or impulsive thing" and that she had planned it "quietly, a long time ago." Grande also told the audience that suggestions that outside negativity was influencing her decision were not accurate. "No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or not as real to me as this love that we share," she said.
