Viola Davis Rejects Target’s Apology Over “Blackface” Halloween Costume Viola Davis has rejected Target’s apology after the retailer pulled a controversial kids’ Halloween costume that critics said evoked racist minstrel and blackface imagery. Target removed the $25 "Kids' Glows Under Blacklight Circus Clown" costume from its Hyde and EEK! Boutique line after backlash over the design’s exaggerated features, which many linked to Jim Crow-era minstrel and blackface tropes. The retailer took down the item and issued an apology, saying they “got this wrong” and acknowledging the deep hurt caused to Black customers and employees. Davis, however, turned down the apology. John Nash and his wife Alicia,were killed in an auto crash on the New Jersey Tumpike,saturday afternoon.The couple were in a Taxi whose driver lost control and crashed into a guard rail.The Nobel Laureate whose life as both a mathematician genius and a victim of cruel mental disorders,inspired the 2001 film ''A Beautiful Mind''.It was not until after the movie was released that his work was known as a brilliant and eccentric.He was associated with Princeton University for many years,most recently his serving as senior research Mathematician.He won the Nobel prize in economic in 1994,for his work in game theory,which offered insight into dynamics of human rivalry.He died on saturday at the age of 86.One more photo below.
