  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. THE NIGERIAN MILITARY,IMPOSED A CURFEW AFTER BOKO HARAM ATTACKED MAIDUGURI.

                     Today friday morning,it was reported that the Nigerian military has imposed a curfew on the North eastern city of Maiduguri,following an attack by suspected Boko Haram fighters.The attack took place on wednesday.Heavy shooting and explosions were heard on the out skirst of the city,with many fleeing their homes.Residents said they heard heavy shooting and explosions on the outskirts and began fleeing their homes.Maiduguri has become under Boko Haram attacks on Dozens of occasion.The gruop has been relatively quiet recently with the Nigerian army making gains against it's strong hold,the Sambisa forest.Maiduguri has not been attacked since two major takeover attempts in late January and early Febryary and several bombings in march.Several hundred insurgents carried out the latest attack in Maiduguri.The militants were reportedly trying to kidnap a group of women when security forces responded.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
