 Durbar Suspension: Kano Residents, Tourists, Businesses Lament Losses For the second year running, Kano’s historic Durbar festival was cancelled over security concerns, leaving residents, tourists, and businesses counting heavy cultural and economic losses. More than 160 tourists, including international visitors, expressed deep disappointment, with some having spent months preparing for the event. Traders, hoteliers, and artisans also reported significant losses due to the festival’s abrupt halt. Tourism experts and culture advocates warned that repeated cancellations threaten the legacy and global appeal of the UNESCO-recognized festival, urging authorities to find lasting solutions to restore the iconic celebration.

VETERAN ACTOR FEMI ROBINSON,WHO ACTED IN ''THE VILLAGE HEADMASTER'',DIED YESTERDAY.

                                                                He was best known for the role he played in the NTA Television sitcom on NTA as the Village Headmaster.He died early wednesday at the age of 75.His demise was announced by his two sons,Seun and Wole Robinson,on his facebook page.The message reads ''This is to notify you that we lost our father,Femi Robinson this morning-Seun and Wole Robinson {sons}''.The cause of his death was yet to be ascertained,but it was gathered that he probably died due to old age related issues''.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
