 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Asade Christian Ibukun: Dies in the crash                               According to sources,the bodies of three of the 12 persons who died in a ghastly motor accident that occured friday on Sagamu Benin express way were taken away yesterday saturday for burial  by their families.The three included the driver of the bus who was identified as Lukman Ola Adekeye.The other two are a fresh graduate of Physics,Dairo Olatunji Michael and a freshman,identified as Aminat Adebayo.There was only one survivor,Akinbo Laughter,a chemistry student as pictured below.She is receiving treatment at Babcoc University Hospital,in llishan.While the lady pictured above is identified as Asade Christian Ibukun a Law 200 level student,she also died in the crash.The freshman had gone to Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye to complete her post JAMB form in the school and was on her way back home.The container truck collided with the bus packed with students,going to Sango Otta,killing 12 persons.The bus was said to have taken off from Ago-Iwoye,according to an official report of the Federal Road Safety Commission,but another report said the bus took off from Ijebu Ode.The Chairman,National Association of Nigerian Students NANS,Ogun state,Comrade Okikiola Ogunsola,identified the other deceased as Odubanjo Eunice Oluwadamilola Pol.Science 200 level,Ogunniola Omolade Mariam Efm {History} 100 level,Aribiola Yetunde Elizabeth Biochemistry 100 level,Adams Suliat Oluwatobi,Accounting 100 level,Pampam Funmilayo Latifat Chemical Science 100 level,Asade Christiana Ibukun Law 200 level.He said the students were identified through their voters cards,receipts,driver licences,school IDs and text books.There were four ID cards seen around the accident scene belonging to Kutu Ayonimofe Emmanuel,Ayoola Sheriff Gbolahan,Akinyemi Remilekun and Akeem Kazeem.The students leader said he was not sure whether they were the correct idnties for the remaining occupants of the bus.The student union government after a meeting yesterday saturday evening with NANs South West zonal coordinator,Comrade sunday Ashefun and Ogun NANS Chairman,comrader Okikiola Ogunsola decided that tomorrow monday be declared as a ''Black monday'' in the school.More photos below.                                                              Akinbo Laughter Ibukun, middle, survives
