  BENUE STATE POLICE COMMAND  PRESS RELEASE  18TH APRIL ,2025   SANKERA ATTACK: POLICE ACTION On  17/4/2025  at about 2100hrs, information was received that a large number of  suspected militia had invaded  Sankera axis of Benue state with intention to attack communities around Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area.  Upon receipt of this report, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police command, CP. Steve H. Yabanet FCID, psc (+)  ordered tactical teams to move to the area and join forces with police officers on ground and other security agencies to forestall the attack.  Following this order, a team of officers moved to the area and engaged them. 3 CHILDREN OF THE SAME PARENTS,DIED YESTERDAY NIGHT IN A FIRE AT EGBEDA LAGOS.

                    According to sources,three children of the same parents yesterday saturday night died in an inferno that destroyed their three room self contain apartment in Egbeda Akowonjo area of Lagos state.The incident caused by a candle light occurred around 10:pm at No.20 Fakoya street Vulcaniser bus stop Egbeda Akowonjo.The three kids are identified as 9 year old Ifeoma,7 year old Emeka and 3 yearold Ueoma.The Director of the Lagos state fire service,Rasak Fadipe,confirmed this to NAN in Lagos today suday that ''The fire broke after the father of the children had gone to check his wife,the mother of the children,in the hospital,where she had just given birth to their forth child.The fire service was not called to the scene on time,and i advise people to stop the use of candle to light their house.The dead body of the children had been moved to a mortuary by the police from Shasha Division''.
