 Oba Owoade crowned 46th Alaafin of Oyo Oba Abimbola Owoade has been crowned the 46th Alaafin of Oyo. Owoade succeeds the 45th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who died on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83. The coronation event took place today (Saturday) at Oliveth Baptist High School in Oyo, where Governor Seyi Makinde led a host of dignitaries, including notable Nigerians. Dignitaries present at the coronation included the Olubadan of Ibadan,  Oba Owolabi Olakulehin; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye; Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi; and Aare Oona Kankanfo of Yoruba, Iba Gani Adams, among others PUNCH Online reports that ahead of the event, the Oyo State Government had put in place heightened security measures, including the deployment of security operatives at strategic locations within the ancient city and surrounding communities. A MAN DENNIS,WAS CAUGHT TODAY STEALING MONEY FROM A WHITE MAN ON AN AERO FLIGHT FROM LAGOS TO ABUJA.

                     A passenger Mr Ovuironye Mathew Dennis was travelling on board a 6.45am Aero flight today monday,was caught while stealing about N350,000 from a luggage belonging to an Austrain,Novotny Aton,another passenger on the flight.31 year old Denise with 1.65height as captured in his temporary driver's licence and seating on flight seat No.23c,was spotted by a member of the airline's cabin crew when he removed the Austrain's bag from the cockpit as if he was changing his seat.The suspect was also caught with a wrap of marijuana.The suspect had removed the bag from the cockpit where the Austrain sat,took it to his own seat,giving the impression that he was changing his seat and stole a sum of N150,000 and 500 Euros belonging to the Austrian.But he ran out of luck when a female cabin crew raised alarm,asked him to remain seated while he was trying to return the bag to the cockpit before the Austrian could suspect any foul play.''While trying to return the bag i asked him to seat down.But he became uncomfortable before the plane landed and the whiteman raised alarm that he couldn't find his bag''.Immediately the plane landed at the Abuja airport,the Austrian couldn't find his bag and raised alarm,but the cabin crew member told him to check the bag with Dennis.After the suspect was stripped naked,he told other angry passengers that he mistakenly took the bag in question for his own.The Austrian later discovered that the sum of N150,000 and 500 Euros had been taken from the bag.Other passengers immediately descended on Dennis.The money was later found on him alongside a wrap of marijuana.He said he stole the money to take care of his ill mother {story}.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
