 FG reaffirms commitment to North-East inclusion in Agro-Industrial Project amid exclusion claims The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has dismissed concerns raised by the North-East Caucus of the National Assembly regarding the alleged exclusion of the region from the Federal Government's flagship agricultural initiative the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) program. The minister of agriculture and food security Sen. Abubakar Kyari made the clarification over the weekend while briefing the media. He noted that the North-East is not only included in the SAPZ program, but that several states from the region have already met the eligibility criteria for the second phase of the project. The response comes on the heels of public criticisms sparked by the recent groundbreaking ceremonies in Kaduna and Cross River states. MUDASHIRU OBASA,ELECTED TODAY AS LAGOS STATE SPEAKER.

Obasa: Elected as Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly                   Accordig to sources,fourth term member of the Lagos stste House of Assembly and representative of Agege constituency 1,Mudashiru Obas,was today monday elected as the Speaker for the eight session of the state Assembly.His election confirmed an earlier report last week that Obasa had been endorsed for the position at a meeting of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress,APC and members elect of the House.Obasa was proposed as the Speaker by one of his major contenders,Moshood Oshun,representing Lagos Mainland Constituency 2.Moshood Oshun motion was seconded by Sola Giwa,a fresh law maker for the Lagos Island Constituency 2.Obasa accepted the nomination at exactly 11:15am today monday.Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni was nominated and approved for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House by another Lawmaker,Gbolahan Yishawu,representing Et-Osa Constituency 2.Minutes before the election of principal officers,the House was inaugurated by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode,who said he was doing as required of him by the Nigerian constitution.In a short address to inaugurate the House,Ambode congratulated the members on their election and charged them to be good ambassadors of their various constituencies.
