 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. PRESIDENT BUHARI,REACTS TO SARAKI'S APPOINTMENT AS SENATE PRESIDENT.

                                                     Todat tuesday,a statement issued by the Special Adviser {Media and Publicity} to the President,Mr Femi Adesina said the president would have preferred that APC process of  electing leaders been followed.Adesina said ''Nonetheless the president took the view that a constitutional process has somewhat occurred.President Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he did not have any preferred candidate for the senate and the House of Representatives,and that he was willing to work with whoever the lawmakers elected.That sentiment still stands.Though he would have preferred the new leaders to have emerged through the process established by the party''.Adesina stressed that the main concerns of President Buhari are the stability of our constitutional order and overall interest of the common man.The President called on all the elected representatives of the people to focus on the enormous task of bring enduring positive change to the lives of Nigerian.More photos below.
