 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements.                                                      Todat tuesday,a statement issued by the Special Adviser {Media and Publicity} to the President,Mr Femi Adesina said the president would have preferred that APC process of  electing leaders been followed.Adesina said ''Nonetheless the president took the view that a constitutional process has somewhat occurred.President Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he did not have any preferred candidate for the senate and the House of Representatives,and that he was willing to work with whoever the lawmakers elected.That sentiment still stands.Though he would have preferred the new leaders to have emerged through the process established by the party''.Adesina stressed that the main concerns of President Buhari are the stability of our constitutional order and overall interest of the common man.The President called on all the elected representatives of the people to focus on the enormous task of bring enduring positive change to the lives of Nigerian.More photos below.
