 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.                 It was reported today that one 18 year old girl {name with-held} killed her own mother in Rmuchakara village in Choba community,Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state.A source close to the family said that,disagreement had ensued between the 18 year old girl and her mother on wednesday evening after the mother had asked her to go and prepare the night meal.The 18 year old girl protested that she would not cook and that made her mother to slap her.After her mother slapped her for refusing to cooking,the 18 year old girl,picked up a plank and smashed her mother's head.Every effort made to save her mothers life,was not successful because her mother sustained serious injury to the head.The where-about of the 18 year old girl,is yet to be known since the news of her mothers death was known to everybody yesterday thursday,but the leaders of the community have passed a decree that the young girl should not return to the community anymore.We are still waiting for the report from the Nigerian police.
