 PRESS RELEASE  6TH OSOM GAMES TODAY DECLARED OPEN BY THE NSC CHAIRMAN.  The National Sports Commission (NSC) is making headlines once again with its commitment to promoting Nigerian athletes through regular internal competitions. Today, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), declared the 6th OSOM Games open in a colourful ceremony at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja. This statement reinforces the Commission's dedication to their Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigerian Sports Economy (RHINSE) mandate and their goal of turning sports from a field of consumption to one of production. The OSOM Games, which stands for One Service One Medal, is an inter-security agency competition that aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the various security agencies in Nigeria. THE AIRPORT IN BENIN CITY,TO BE SHUT DOWN FOR 4 WEEKS.

                 According to an airport staff who spoke to journalist today said that the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria {FAAN},has ordered the temporary closure between 20 June and 17 July 2015,to enable management carry out maintenance of the airport's runway to ease flight landing and take off.The manager of the Airport,Mr Ayodele Sunday,failed to comment on the issue,simply saying that he was yet to be briefed.The last time the airport was renovated was when Stella Oduah was still Minister of Aviation.So passengers are advised to use alternative routes as all flight activities are expected to shift to Warri or Asaba Airport pending when repairs are fully effected.
