 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. THE AIRPORT IN BENIN CITY,TO BE SHUT DOWN FOR 4 WEEKS.

                 According to an airport staff who spoke to journalist today said that the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria {FAAN},has ordered the temporary closure between 20 June and 17 July 2015,to enable management carry out maintenance of the airport's runway to ease flight landing and take off.The manager of the Airport,Mr Ayodele Sunday,failed to comment on the issue,simply saying that he was yet to be briefed.The last time the airport was renovated was when Stella Oduah was still Minister of Aviation.So passengers are advised to use alternative routes as all flight activities are expected to shift to Warri or Asaba Airport pending when repairs are fully effected.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
