ZIMBABWEAN COUPLE DEPORTED OVER SECRET BURIAL OF CHILD IN BOTSWANA A Zimbabwean couple has been deported from Botswana after secretly burying their child without notifying authorities. Motilinah Mpofu and Christopher Ncube were convicted on Thursday of concealing a death after they allegedly dug a grave for their child in the dead of night. The Gaborone court heard the child had died suddenly. Instead of reporting the death to police, health officials, or traditional leaders, the couple quietly buried the youngster and hoped no one would find out. But the secret did not stay buried for long. Police moved in and arrested the pair. In sentencing, the court ordered that the couple be taken to the Plumtree Border Post for deportation to Zimbabwe. Top Botswana lawyer Winnie Masitha who offered the couple free legal representation during the trial, confirmed the deportation to BTV News. 8 year old Adou Ouattara was found in a suitcase at a Spainish border,during scanning,has reunited with his mother.According to a statement from the city of Ceuta ''He was being cared for at a youth centre since border police discovered him on 7th May 2015 in the suit case of a Moroccan woman''.His father who is said to have planned the exercise was arrested for trying to smuggle the young boy,hoowever sources say he is set to be released.His father's lawyer said the father knew nothing of the suitcase plan,believing his son was to be brought into Spain by a car with a visa he had paid for.Police in Ceuta had found eight year old Adou Ouattara curled up and covered inside a suitcase without air vents at a border checkpoint on May 7.The suitcase containing Adou was being carried through a pedestrain border crossing by a 19 year old woman who identity has not been released,when a security scanner detected the boy inside.Last month officials granted Adou authorization to live in Spain for one year and had been waiting for results of DNA tests before turning him over to his mother Lucie Ouattara,who lives legally in Spain's Canary Islands off the Moroccan coast.Adou was reunited with his mother yesterday monday after tests proved they were related.More photos below.
